Heart Education and Relationship Training

HEART is the prevention program of Birthline, Inc. HEART speakers encourage our young people to form healthy relationships and to show them how they can do this!

HEART has a variety of presentations that can fit into any class or group (all of the presentations can also be adapted for use with young adult/college groups).

Last school year we spoke with approximately 3,000 youth in schools and churches throughout Central Minnesota!

Of the students who heard our presentations, 96% rated it good or excellent!

Our speakers challenge youth to choose abstinence and many of the young people who we speak to are taking the message to heart!

Birthline offers four different types of the HEART program - with each one specially tailored to fit the audience being addressed:

A Parents HEART

HEART speakers are trained volunteers throughout Central Minnesota who have experience working with young people and have a passion for the message of abstinence. There is no charge for providing the presentation to your students. Our quality volunteer speakers are a key element to the success of the presentation.

HEART

The HEART presentation is the most requested presentation that we have!
This is for students in grades 7 - 12
During this presentation students will discuss the following topics:

Goals
Maturity
Consequences of premarital sex
Intimacy, starting over (secondary virginity)
And love vs. infatuation.

Not only will students will be challenged to choose abstinence, but they will also discuss how to live out that commitment.

HEART BURST

God wants us to experience love in relationships that is so complete and full that our heart's burst! HEART BURST is a Christian presentation for churches that have students (grades 7 - 12) that attend one of the school's in which our HEART presentation is a part of their Health classes.
During this presentation students will look more in depth at:

What it takes to make a marriage work
What specific skills they can develop now to have healthy relationships
Address the role of media
The five dimensions of sex
And get specific on how to live out a life of purity!

HEART STRINGS

There are strings that pull on a persons heart. Abortion can cause those strings to tug at a persons heart for many years to come.
During HEART STRINGS students will learn about abortion:

The methods
The history
The law
Some myths regarding abortion
And the consequences of it.

Whenever possible a woman who has a personal story of abortion will tell her story... not only of the pain abortion has caused her, but also of the healing and forgiveness of Jesus.
(This presentation is often given in partnership with Project Rachel)

HEART BEAT

On the verge of adolescence, their hearts are beginning to beat for, to desire a dating relationship. But are they ready for it?
HEART BEAT is a presentation for students in grades 5 - 6. In HEART BEAT we focus on friendships and how to develop those relationships.
We discuss:

Dating relationships and challenge students to remain focused on friendships
Develop their own skills through school, sports, extra-curricular, and time with their families.
Explore such topics as:
o peer pressure
o maturity
o consequences of sex
o emotional intimacy
o And love versus infatuation.

Together, they will establish boundaries for themselves in order to live a commitment to abstinence.

A PARENT'S HEART

A Parent's heart loves like no other. In A PARENT'S HEART, we equip and encourage parents to be the primary educators of their children in this vital area.
Parents will learn up-to-date information regarding:

STD's
The consequences of premarital sex
Why some teens are sexually active
And what causes others to wait.

Parents will leave this presentation with more knowledge and confidence to talk to their children!
